Conserving and enhancing land in Southern Oregon
to sustain our human and natural communities forever, since 1978.

We would like to acknowledge that Southern Oregon is the ancestral homelands of the Shasta, Takelma, Latgawa, Modoc, Klamath, and the Yahooskin-Paiute peoples who lived here since time immemorial, as well as all people who did not survive but who have ties to this land.

Where We Work

Learn more about our conserved lands and the six primary focus areas in our strategic plan.

Agate Desert Preserves Transferred to SOLC

In 2022, we completed the transfer of a group of former Nature Conservancy preserves that are now part of SOLC’s conserved lands family. The transfer covers two new fee-owned parcels— Whetstone Savanna and Agate Desert Preserves— and two conservation easements including the Rogue River Plains Preserve. Join us for a hike or stewardship day soon.

Harry & Marilyn Fisher Preserve at Pompadour Bluff

In 2021 we were honored to be gifted an iconic landmark of the southern Bear Creek Valley, the Harry & Marilyn Fisher Preserve at Pompadour Bluff. Harry Fisher bequeathed this 55-acre property to SOLC in his will. Our hope is to share this iconic place while also protecting its conservation values. Read more about what makes this scenic place so special and how you can support its conservation and infrastructure upgrades to safely facilitate stewardship and community engagement well into the future.

Southern Oregon Land Conservancy works cooperatively with landowners and communities to save our region's special places for today, tomorrow, and beyond.

For people. For nature. Forever.
