Join us at Grape Street Bar & Grill in Medford on Leap Day, Thursday, February 29, from 6:00 p.m. - 7:30 p.m. for our Leaps and Legs Pub Talk. A panel of experts will provide a glimpse into the world of insects. Insects provide essential services as decomposers, pollinators, and sustaining the food web. Dr. Jacob Youngblood will share about grasshoppers, Laura Lowrey will share about various forest insects, Dana Ross will present about moths, and Dr. Michael Parker will present about macroinvertebrates.
Registration is not required and everyone is welcome to attend. Early arrival is highly recommended and food and beverages will be available for purchase.
We can't wait to see you there!
If you ever peer into a half-rotted log you might be so lucky to find a slippery pair of eyes staring back at you. If you’re extremely lucky those eyes could belong to a Pacific giant salamander (Dicamptodon tenebrosus). Usually seen wriggling through woody debris or eating a mildly toxic banana slug, these marbled beauties are found throughout western Oregon.
