Vanquish Fences at Vesper Meadow

  • 84 4th Street Ashland, OR 97520 (map)

Join us for an exciting day at Vesper Meadow Restoration Preserve for a community effort to restore habitat!

A legacy of cattle grazing has littered the landscape with broken down fences that make it dangerous for wildlife to move through large swaths of conserved lands, and we need your help with removing this hazard. Come get to know your fellow community volunteers and take part in a greater movement for land stewardship in Southern Oregon. It's a fun and easy way to find satisfaction in a day's work. All fence materials will be upcycled to make a sculpture by Vesper Meadow Artist-in-Partnership, Gabriel Barerra.

Please wear sturdy pants, close-toed shoes, and eye protection (sunglasses). Also plan on bringing water, snacks, and sun protection. We will provide provide tools, gloves, eye protection, and plenty of snacks. If you have them, bring your own gloves and fence removal tools. We also ask that you are up-to-date on a tetanus immunization.

Please note that this activity will include walking on flat and uneven surfaces, lifting 1-15 lbs, bending, and use of hand tools. There will be two sessions:

Session 1: 9:00 a.m. - 1:30 p.m. / Session 2: 1:30 p.m. - 5:00 p.m.
