Consider lending a hand for our beautiful wildlife at the Rogue River Preserve!
Embrace the crisp fall air and assist with the pulling and removal of invasive and flammable Scotch Broom. As the leaves turn golden, help us protect our local ecosystem by clearing this invasive plant from the floodplain forest. Enjoy the invigorating autumn weather while making an impactful difference. The Rogue River Preserve features two miles of riverfront along the Rogue River, a large floodplain forest, and oak woodlands with meadows.
No experience is necessary. Tools, refreshments, and gloves will be provided. Please wear durable pants, a long-sleeve shirt, and sturdy close-toed shoes. Let's work together to preserve our native habitat while savoring the season.
If you have any questions, please contact Paige Gerhard, Event and Volunteer Coordinator, at 541-482-3069 (Ext 107) or email events@landconserve.org.
If you ever peer into a half-rotted log you might be so lucky to find a slippery pair of eyes staring back at you. If you’re extremely lucky those eyes could belong to a Pacific giant salamander (Dicamptodon tenebrosus). Usually seen wriggling through woody debris or eating a mildly toxic banana slug, these marbled beauties are found throughout western Oregon.
