Volunteer for National Public Lands Day in the Cascade-Siskiyou National Monument!
Join the Friends of Cascade-Siskiyou National Monument, BLM Monument staff, and SOLC as we celebrate National Public Lands Day. For safer wildlife passage, we will be working to remove fencing on boundary lands between Sky King Cole and the Monument in the Pilot Rock area. Sky King Cole is a beautiful 1312-acre private property conserved with a conservation easement held by SOLC.

If you ever peer into a half-rotted log you might be so lucky to find a slippery pair of eyes staring back at you. If you’re extremely lucky those eyes could belong to a Pacific giant salamander (Dicamptodon tenebrosus). Usually seen wriggling through woody debris or eating a mildly toxic banana slug, these marbled beauties are found throughout western Oregon.
