Family Walkabout at Rogue River Preserve

REGISTRATION will open on April 19 at 6am.

Here’s a chance for families to explore the Preserve. Bring your little ones and let them discover the wonders of nature. There will be a guided activity as well as lunch by the river. Some walking and lots of exploring. Recommended for children three years and older. Folks should bring their own picnic lunch to enjoy along the river.

In 2017, Southern Oregon Land Conservancy purchased this iconic 352-acre parcel along the Rogue River. For more information on the conservation of this special land go to our Heart of the Rogue webpage.

Guides: Kat Whyte, recently retired elementary school teacher and program volunteer for SOLC’s Loving the Land outdoor education program
Focus: Families, Fun and Adventure!
Limit: 15
Meeting Location: Near Eagle Point. Exact meeting location and directions will be emailed upon registration.
Difficulty: Easy slow walking on and off trails. Ground can be rocky and uneven, generally flat. We may walk up to two miles. Weed seeds and ticks may be present so long pants are advised. A portable toilet is available at the Preserve.

Waiting List:
Folks on the waiting list often get invited to the hike, so please add your name if the hike is full.
