Butterflies at Cascade-Siskiyou National Monument

Learn from Linda Kappen and Kathleen Donham how to safely catch and identify butterflies on a privately conserved property on the Siskiyou Summit called Sky King Cole and on the adjacent Cascade-Siskiyou National Monument. This event is perfect for beginners; kids are welcome.

Linda Kappen hosts a butterfly garden at Applegate Elementary School and shares her enthusiasm and knowledge of butterflies with her students and local groups. Kathleen Donham has researched pollination ecology and is a former SOLC board member. They will guide everyone on easy short walks, stopping at butterfly-rich spots on Pilot Rock Road.
