Spring is here! Enjoy its full splendor by visiting a beautiful property: the Rogue River Preserve. To limit crowding on the trails, we require pre-registration for specific time slots. Guided Hike participants are welcome to explore the property before or after their hike slot (no need to register for Self-guided option if registering for hike).

  • 10 a.m. - 12 p.m. - Guided Wildflower Hike. Up to 15 visitors (Includes Self-guided Exploration for the day)

  • 1 p.m. - 2 p.m. - Guided Plants & People Hike. Up to 15 visitors (Includes Self-guided Exploration for the day)

Wildflower Hike: Led by SOLC's Stewardship Director and Botanist Kristi Mergenthaler, we will use Rogue River Preserve as an outdoor laboratory to learn about botany. We’ll meet many beautiful flowers, learn about flower anatomy, and get to know the characters of a few plant families.

Plants & People Hike: Volunteer docent and naturalist Liz Landreth will lead a walk focusing on plants and ethnobotany. Liz will tell stories about how the plants adapt to this unique environment and how animals, Native Americans and early settlers depend on them for food, medicine, shelter and tools. The spring flowers will be lovely! The walk will be less than 2 miles, going at a slow flower-appreciating rate, on and off trails on relatively flat ground.

As much as we love our furry friends at SOLC, pets are not allowed. SOLC does make exceptions for ADA service animals. Companion animals, however, are not allowed.

If you have questions about the day, contact Teresa Fernandez at 541-482-3069 Ext 107 or email her.
