Siskiyou Summit
This spectacular property is located at the top of the Siskiyou Summit south of Ashland, between the Rogue and Klamath River basins. The 1,312 acres contain a mosaic of landscape features and habitat types including rocky ridges, buttes, talus slopes, creeks, springs, wetlands, ponds, oak and juniper savannahs, native grasslands and mixed conifer forests.
This property protects one of the most biologically important areas in the region as well as a mile of the Pacific Crest National Scenic Trail. Surrounded by the Cascade-Siskyou National Monument, it serves as a high elevation land bridge for species dispersal between the Cascade and Siskiyou Mountains. The protection of this spectaular property was accomplished with assistance from the Pacific Crest Trail Association and numerous community members.
