The Southern Oregon Land Conservancy is here for you. We work to protect our natural areas, conserve wildlife corridors, save working farms and ranches, and ensure that the magnificent views that inspire us every day are here for future generations as well.
Over 30 years ago, a group of southern Oregonians became concerned at the loss of local landmarks and farmland to unplanned growth. That passion gave birth to the Southern Oregon Land Conservancy in 1978.
However, despite our numerous successes, this trend has not changed. Farmland continues to be lost at an alarming rate. Places that were once favorite sledding hills and hiking trails are now dotted with “No Trespassing” signs.
The Southern Oregon Land Conservancy works to conserve special places like these for everyone’s benefit. We want to ensure that all residents of southern Oregon have access to clean water, clean air, fresh food, and safe places to play. Perhaps more importantly, we work to permanently protect local habitat for the plants and animals that make the Klamath-Siskiyou region so unique and special.
Most of our operating funds come from individuals like you. In return, we work to ensure that our lands remain healthy and vibrant for this and future generations. Please do your part and make a commitment to conserving land today.
Working together, we are making a real difference in the future of our region. We conserve land at a very low cost: averaging only $150 per acre! In addition, we spend a majority of our resources pursuing land conservation deals and our land stewardship program.
Unlike many other conservation groups, almost all of your contribution remains here in southern Oregon, protecting our amazing region and benefiting the local economy. No matter how you look at it, supporting the Southern Oregon Land Conservancy is a great deal!
There are a number of ways to support local land conservation through the Southern Oregon Land Conservancy, including:
- Become a member;
- Become a business member;
- Give a gift membership to a loved one;
- Volunteer with us;
- Include us in your estate planning;
- Follow us on Facebook and Twitter; and even
- Conserve your land for future generations.
There are a number of benefits of supporting the Southern Oregon Land Conservancy, but the most important is knowledge that, while there was time to act, you were one who did. Thank you!
